Mission Statement: The program is designed to train physicians, medical students, and residents to learn fundamental knowledge and hands on experience in acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine.

Length Of Program: The program will cover 300 – 360 hours of continuing education study of acupuncture and TCM. The participants can study the program in as little as 6 months. The length could be as long as 18 months.
 

 

Program Summary
 

Standard Training includes domestic training, study, and internship – 300 hours

Unit 1 - Class time = 40 hours of intense lecture (10 hours for 4 days Thursday thru Sunday)

Unit 2 - Home study = 200 hours (8 hours per week for 25 weeks)

Unit 3 - Clinical/Internship practice = 60 hours

40 hours (5 days in local in their area)

20 hours (3 days for self practice and case study)

 

Advanced includes domestic & China training, study, and internship – 360 hours

Program Outline

300 Hour Standard Training
 

 

 

Unit 1

  • TuiNa /Chinese Manual Therapy = 10 hours
  • Acupuncture Point Location, Uses and Needling Technique = 16 hours
  • Introduction to herbal medicine = 4 hours
  • Fundamental Theory of Chinese Medicine & Body Mind Concept = 6 hours
  • Acupuncture accessory technique (cupping, moxibustion) = 4 hours
     

Unit 2

  • Fundamental Theory of Chinese Medicine = 36 hours
  • Acupuncture Point Location and Uses, Acupuncture Needling Technique  = 72 hours
  • Acupuncture for medical conditions = 36 hours
  • At the end of your twenty hours you are required to submit five completed acupuncture case studies = 20 hours
  • Chinese herbal medicine theory and uses = 36 hours
     

Unit 3

  • Local Area Clinical and Internship Practice in Certified Acupuncture Clinic
    • In this 5 day training you will observe a Chinese acupuncture physician using acupuncture to treat many medical conditions including sports, orthopedic injury and pain management. As well as internal medicine conditions.
  • Self Practice and Case Study
    • The course requires that you practice on at least five different patients (such as friends, family members or patients) within a minimum of ten visits. You must complete in twenty weeks.

 

360 hours Advanced Training

Unit 1

  • TuiNa /Chinese Manual Therapy = 10 hours
  • Acupuncture Point Location, Uses and Needling Technique = 16 hours
  • Introduction to herbal medicine = 4 hours
  • Fundamental Theory of Chinese Medicine & Body Mind Concept = 6 hours
  • Acupuncture accessory technique (cupping, moxibustion) = 4 hours
     

Unit 2

  • Acupuncture Point Location and Uses, Acupuncture Needling Technique  = 72 hours

Unit 3

  • Specific study topics (You can select two of the follow four subjects)
    • Scalp acupuncture for stroke rehabilitation
    • Advanced needing techniques
    • Powerful commonly used acupuncture points for pain conditions
    • Acupuncture treatment for allergies and asthma
  • China hospital and clinic internship
    • You will have five intensive hands on training sessions under China’s top acupuncture neurologist. You will learn to apply acupuncture for various medical conditions. You will learn hands on TuiNa manual therapy technique.
  • Traditional Chinese Medicine and culture tour
    • Chinese Medicine
      You will tour traditional Chinese herbal pharmacy to visit acupuncture in patient hospital, observe TuiNa medical manual therapy clinic.
    • Traditional Chinese Culture
      You will tour the 1,000 year old Forbidden City with its 999 palaces. You will see the ancient Great Wall of China the longest wall of the world. The only thing you can see from the moon.
    • Explore modern China in Shanghai
      Shanghai will be the number one economic and financial city of Asia in the 21st century. With a population 60 million people.  You will visit the history museum of Shanghai, the largest museum in China to learn more about Chinese culture and Chinese civilization.
